Aiyélála/Ayelala

Queen, Mother,
Slave, Witch, Woman, Goddess,
She was sacrificed for another's crime;
She cried out, "The world is terrible, incomprehensible!"
True, and they killed Her anyway.
The world is unjust.
Words fail.

Corrupt priests
still work with slavers
under the auspices of religious service,
for people are still greedy, selfish, and strange:
people use people, hate each other,
fail to see divinity
in humanity.

We pray:
praise the very Mother
who bathes in gin like foreigners,
who takes vengeance when the guilty are forgotten,
who is never guilty in action,
may it be thus:
justice comes.
